Couzens used his own credit card, with his name on it to pay for the McDonald's when he flashed workers
Wayne Couzens acted with impunity because he knew that the Kent Police force would not even bother to do the basics
Three years ago today Wayne Couzens stepped out of a wooded area naked and masturbated at a female cyclist. If only she had reported it. If only she had seen the masturbating man’s car and recorded a partial plate. If only she made a report.

Valentines Day two years ago. Wayne Couzens exposed his penis to staff at the drive through window at the McDonalds. If only the female staff had reported it. If only there was ANPR data. If only Wayne Couzens, a serving police officer, who had his cock out had paid with a credit card in his own name. If only the ANPR data and his credit card for the fucking McDonald’s matched the serving police officer in the Diplomatic Protection Order.
After nothing happening to him after February 14th, 2021 he returned and did it again on the 27th. Once again, credit card and ANPR data and female staff that were shaken and angry.
It would be so easy to spin this as why it is so important to report flashers and escalating sexually deviant behaviour because had anyone had obvious information like his car, license plate and a credit card in his name; then surely the police would have stopped this man from exposing himself to women at the McDonalds more than once in his own car.
Had anyone anyone done the most basic of Scooby Doo level police work they would have had his name and address. Granted it would not tell them that he was an armed serving police officer as per British Transport Police Chief Constable Lucy D’Orsi who last month explained that despite giving her biometric data; nothing would say she was a police officer unless she told them. Learning that it makes a lot more sense why the rape conviction rate is 1.7%.
These are the three charges Couzens pled guilty to today. It has been alleged that as far back as 2008 he was reported for flashing Emma Wilson (full disclosure: Emma contacted me to tell me she had been flashed by Couzens, reported it and had a crime reference number and I brought it to the press).
He was reported for flashing over 13 years, had any officer treated the incidents as worth looking in to; then he would not have been free four days later to abduct, rape and murder Sarah Everard on March 3 of 2021.
I can’t decide what is worse, 13 years of reporting him or four days with his name on his credit card for the same McDonald’s drivethrough where he exposed himself multiple times. The worst part might be that the same sequence of events could happen today. Nothing has demonstrably changed to prevent this from happening again.
Bas Javid, the force’s Deputy Assistant Commissioner for Professionalism, said:
“We know the public will, understandably, be sickened at yet more grotesque crimes by Couzens. The process of flushing out the corrupt and the criminal from the Met will be slow and painful, but is necessary and we will continue to do so. This is how we will reform, move forward and become an institution Londoners can have confidence in.”
I don’t believe that we have even scratched the surface of the grotesque crimes that Couzens is likely to have committed while a serving Metropolitan Police officer of 20 years.
Does anyone actually believe that Sarah was the first woman he illegally and physically laid hands on? Through his position of power in the police he had access to thousands of women that would never be missed. He had access to women that were caught having commited crimes; women that were trafficked, women that he would have wielded his power over for sexual gain like Carrick threatening to report one of his victims to immigration. We have read accounts of Couzens bringing sex workers to Met parties.
Have they excavated the land on all of his properties? Because of the flashing charges the AG had extensive and obtrusive gag orders for anyone that factually linked Carrick and Couzens. But there are still many many questions that need to be answered.
Who was in Couzens and Carrick’s direct reporting line? What was the line to Cressida Dick? This is her legacy.
Have all of Couzens properties been forensically searched? If not, why the hell not?
Why when learning that he had a history of documented flashing and had handcuffed Sarah did the Met decide to tell women to flag down buses instead of implementing internal changes to escalate the speed and methods for addressing serial sex offenders who flash women? The Met’s solutions would not have prevented Couzens from reoccuring.
Have they done anything to address serial offenders in the Met? Not according to Dame Casey’s interim report,.
The Met had that information for 6 months, yet decided to go with, “if you don’t think he is a real officer flag down a bus or run in a shop.” I want to know which PR genius within the force came up with this strategy which was then adapted to video calling other officers to confirm that the officer abducting you has a valid warrant card.
Reminder, Couzens had a valid warrant card.
Extrapolate the Met’s brilliant secondary strategy the video call to verify that the officer is in fact an officer strategy was the next ridiculous suggestion. Imagine Couzens illegally arresting a young woman for breaking covid restrictions and handcuffing her and having her at Cressida Dick’s suggestion video call his buddy Bastard Dave Carrick to confirm that yes, indeed, these misogynistic sadistic rapist bastards are armed members of the Diplomatic Protection Order. Officers that are meant to protect and serve the women of London.
Dick actually called it “Safe Connection.”
