If you have the desire to abuse women and are a white man is there a better job out there than becoming a Met Police officer?
Over the weekend, we learnt that Kristina O’Connor cannot bring a judicial review against the Met Police for their failing to fire her abuser DCI Mason. DCI Mason (above) who, in writing, sexually harassed her after she was mugged in Camden. He was found guilty of eight counts of gross misconduct. Yet the punishment was merely that he could not be promoted for a couple of years. Eventually - it seems because of all of the press around the case - he resigned.
Between when he harrassed her and the misconduct panel—- DCI Mason served on the sapphire unit. The Sapphire Unit where he dealt with rape victims.
Kristina, recognising her privilege and the coverage she could get because of her late father, fought for so many women that are terrified to- and she had the receipts. All of the receipts. And she was shaken by Sarah’s murder. She felt the duty to other women to protect them from her assailant. And still she is being blocked from justice, in this instance by Justice Swift.
